Determination of a Navy Seal
Bill had the opportunity to speak for a second time at the Arab Christian Center in Pacific Grove, California last year. He spoke on Philippians 4:6-13 to a people who have known suffering and persecution firsthand. The group consisted of men and women from various Arabic countries (many of them are Arabic instructors at the Defense Language Institute) and the US military. It is an amazing place to speak because there is also a meeting of Jewish believers going on at the same time in the same building. People from both groups ask, “Where else can Arabs and Jews get along so lovingly?” Bill’s message was well received, as well as the response from his books and cassettes. Following the message, many waited to talk to him or ask questions. One young man was halfway through the training to become a Navy Seal — probably the most difficult military training available. During their conversation, Bill asked him if he was going to make it through all the training to become a Seal. He responded without hesitation, “They will have to break every bone in my body before I will quit!” All believers need that kind of determination in 2002 in our walk with the Lord.
